Ascension of Christ is a Bible-based, confessional Lutheran church in the northwest corner of Crossville, Tennessee. We are a multi-generational church that aims to serve all ages with the good news of the gospel. Whether it's through worship, Bible study, or one of our events, we pray you find a community of people to walk alongside you on your walk to our heavenly home, where we'll once again see our ascended Savior.
Our Mission
We are a Christian church that proclaims the forgiveness of sins that Jesus Christ won for us by his death on the cross. We strive to explain the wonders of Jesus' love, displayed throughout the Bible in our worship and all our classes. We are a place where there is a living, loving God who wants to touch your life with his love and power.
You will also have opportunities to serve your fellow man as we reach out to our neighbors here in Crossville.

Our History
In 2006, a simple suggestion to the District Mission Board—"Why not Crossville?"—launched our congregation's history. What began with a meeting at Fairfield Glade's community center in April 2007 soon became regular worship services. The newly formed "Ascension Lutheran Church" first gathered at a Presbyterian Church in Fairfield Glade before leasing space at Maple Grove Plaza in January 2008.
Through dedicated work and generous support, an empty storefront was transformed into a welcoming worship space. Despite bad weather, 32 people attended our facility dedication service on February 17, 2008. As our congregation grew, we expanded into a second building at Maple Grove Plaza, adding offices and a fellowship hall. By 2011, with 83 members, we needed a larger home.
We purchased our current facility at 426 Sparta Drive and held our first worship service there on October 7, 2012. In summer 2022, we celebrated our 15th anniversary and embraced a new chapter by changing our name to "Ascension of Christ Lutheran Church," complete with new branding and logo. Today, our congregation approaches 100 members as we continue the mission that began with that simple suggestion years ago.
